On Thursday, October 16, the Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) of Bangladesh Bank circulated a notice informing banks about this arrangement. The circular stated that the branches handling Hajj-related payments will remain open according to their normal schedule and must ensure adequate security measures. Additionally, banks are required to continue accepting deposits as long as customers wish to deposit funds for Hajj registration.
Bangladesh Bank mentioned that this directive has been issued in the public interest under Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, and has been sent to the managing directors and CEOs of all scheduled banks in the country.
This step is intended to facilitate travelers by making the process of depositing funds for Hajj registration easier, allowing them to complete their preparations in a timely manner.
