Last Thursday, Bangladesh had to settle for a 2–2 draw against Nepal despite taking the lead in a friendly match. Star player Hamza Chowdhury scored both of Bangladesh’s goals—one an overhead kick and the other a Panenka penalty. Even after such a stellar performance, the team could not win, which may disappoint any player. Hamza was disappointed too, but as a professional footballer, he promises to step onto the field with renewed hope for the upcoming match against India.
The former Leicester City midfielder has extensive experience playing in the English Premier League and currently competes in England’s second-tier Championship league. With high-level football experience, he knows that the Nepal match is not the end, and the team must stay motivated for the upcoming clash with India.
On his verified Facebook account, Hamza wrote: “All preparations complete for the big match. Can’t wait to feel the support and excitement from the fans on the field. Insha Allah.”
After the Nepal match, he wrote on Instagram: “Disappointing end to last night’s match, which we should have won. Thanks as always for the support and love. Let’s all stay united and get ready for the big fight.”
Today, Bangladesh faces India in an Asian Cup qualifier at Dhaka’s National Stadium. Tickets for the general gallery sold out within six minutes, demonstrating fans’ immense enthusiasm.
Under Hamza Chowdhury’s leadership and with team unity, Bangladesh is ready to fight on the field again. The team aims to win against India while keeping supporters’ excitement high.
