An accused named Sahadin has confessed to involvement in the murder of journalist Md. Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur.

This information was confirmed by SP KM A Mamun Khan Chishti, company commander of RAB-1, during a press briefing on Saturday morning (August 9) after overnight interrogation.According to RAB, during initial questioning, Sahadin admitted that Tuhin was killed because he was filming an incident involving a gang of robbers. The incident began when a woman member of the gang was assaulted by a man named Badsha. Later, other members of the gang chased Badsha with a knife. Tuhin was recording this scene, and the attackers became enraged after seeing him.

Mamun Khan Chishti said, “Tuhin was asked to delete the video, but he refused, identifying himself. Afterwards, he was brutally stabbed and killed in front of a nearby market.” CCTV footage and the suspect’s confession suggest this as the primary motive.

Earlier, on Friday, the victim’s elder brother filed a case at Basan police station naming 20-25 unknown suspects. Police said the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact motive and background of the incident.
