PNN News Desk | Rajbari:
Serious allegations have been raised against Md. Alimuzzaman, a Sub-Assistant Land Officer at the Mulghar Union Land Office in Rajbari Sadar Upazila. He is accused of using forged certificates, age fraud, promotion-related deceit, and embezzlement of government funds. Based on these allegations, a written request for investigation has been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The complainant, Abdur Razzak Sheikh, a Sub-Assistant Land Officer at Ratanodia Union Land Office in Kalukhali Upazila, Rajbari, submitted the written complaint on September 4 to the ACC Chairman and the Deputy Director of the Faridpur District Office. Copies of the complaint were also sent to the Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division and the Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari.
According to the complaint, Md. Alimuzzaman was appointed to a peon position in 1987 by showing his age as 14 years and 5 months, which is entirely illegal as the minimum age requirement is 18 years. Additionally, he allegedly received house rent allowance while living with his family in the government office premises from 2012 to 2024.
Regarding the allegations, Alimuzzaman stated, “If I am proven guilty in the investigation, I will accept dismissal from my job.” The Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sadar Upazila, Payra Chowdhury, said she learned of the matter from journalists for the first time.
Complainant Abdur Razzak Sheikh said, “State benefits are being exploited through fake certificates and age fraud, posing a threat to administrative transparency and justice in promotion lists. I demand a fair investigation and exemplary punishment.”
