52,500 Metric Tons of Wheat Arrive in Chattogram from Russia

The wheat-carrying vessel MV PERTH, carrying 52,500 metric tons of wheat from Russia, has anchored at Borhinoong, Kutubdia, Chattogram.

Imdad Islam, Senior Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Food, confirmed the news in a statement on Monday (29 September). It was noted that this wheat was imported under the cash purchase contract No. 13.01.0000.093.46.023.25-629 (Package-01) signed on 7 July of the current year.

Sampling and testing of the wheat on board have already been completed, and preparations are underway for rapid unloading. Out of the total 52,500 metric tons, 31,500 metric tons will be unloaded at Chattogram, and the remaining 21,000 metric tons will be unloaded at Mongla Port.
