PNN News Desk | Narsingdi:
In Raipura Upazila, Narsingdi, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly abducted from his home and beaten to death over a theft accusation. The deceased has been identified as Shuvo Ahmed. On Tuesday (September 23), locals found his body near the railway tracks, and the police later recovered it.
Shuvo Ahmed was the son of Al-Amin from Saudagar Bari, North Bakhronagar Union. The deceased’s uncle, Jillur Rahman, alleged that on Monday around 8 PM, two individuals named Tuhin and Harun from Jahangirnagar village forcibly took Shuvo, accusing him of theft. The family learned about the killing the next day after seeing photos of the body on social media.
Jillur Rahman added that Shuvo was an orphan who had been raised under family care and used to drive a small farming tractor. “Killing him in this manner is extremely cruel. We demand justice for the perpetrators,” he said.
Sub-Inspector Zahurul Islam of the Narsingdi Railway Police said there were no marks on the body indicating it had been hit by a train. After post-mortem, the body was buried as unclaimed, but permission will be given to exhume it if the family requests.
OC Md. Adil Mahmud of Raipura Police Station said that no formal complaint has been filed yet, but based on the post-mortem report and the family’s allegations, a murder case may be registered.
