13,677 Applications Submitted for MPO Teachers' Transfers, Results Expected This Week

The application process for transfers of MPO-listed teachers working at private schools and colleges has been completed. Online applications closed at 11pm on Sunday (September 13), as scheduled. A total of 13,677 teachers have applied for transfers this year.

The information was confirmed by sources at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Monday (September 14) morning. According to the sources, the transfer results will be published as soon as possible after receiving approval from the Ministry of Education.

DSHE sources said that following the completion of the application process, the next stage of the transfer procedure is now underway. The Directorate plans to complete the teachers' transfer process within the current week. However, approval from the Ministry of Education will be required before the process can be finalised.

DSHE Director General Professor Dr Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel said the Education Minister is returning to the country on Monday. A quick decision regarding the teachers' transfers will be taken after discussions with the minister. He also said the plan is to complete the transfer process within this week.

Meanwhile, sources at the Ministry of Education said there is also a plan to formally inaugurate the teachers' transfer programme. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman may inaugurate the process. If he does not, Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan may inaugurate it.

According to sources, the transfer programme will be formally launched by pressing a button. If the prime minister inaugurates the programme, the event will have to be arranged according to his schedule, which could delay the process to some extent.

On the other hand, if the education minister inaugurates the programme, there is a possibility that the transfer results will be published or the process will be advanced by the end of the current week.

An official from DSHE, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a meeting regarding the overall transfer process for teachers is expected to be held soon. The next steps, schedule and other issues related to the transfer process will be decided at the meeting. The decisions will subsequently be communicated to the relevant parties.

MPO-listed teachers working at private educational institutions have been interested in having access to transfer opportunities for a long time. Now that applications have closed, they are waiting for the results to be published.

The final list of transferred teachers will be published only after the Ministry of Education grants approval and the necessary administrative decisions are taken.
