Young Man Dies in Cocktail Explosion in Jajira

In Jajira Upazila of Shariatpur, a young man named Sohan Bepari (32) died in a cocktail explosion. Preliminary police reports indicate that the explosion occurred while making the cocktail.

The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday (January 8) at Mulai Beparikandi area of Bilaspur Union. The deceased, Sohan Bepari, was the son of Delowar Bepari and a resident of Satgaria Kandi.

According to police and local sources, for a long time there has been a dispute between two influential local factions in Bilaspur Union over dominance. Recently, this dispute has led to multiple incidents of tension and clashes. In the continuation of this conflict, on Thursday morning, a loud bang was heard in the area.

Woken by the sound, locals came out and found a young man’s body in a garlic field and informed the police. Police later recovered the body from the scene.

Jajira Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saleh Ahmed said that there were clear signs of a cocktail explosion on the body. It is initially believed that the young man died while making the cocktail. The matter is under investigation, and necessary legal action will be taken.
