Both leaders have crossed the age of 70, which may explain why a conversation about age and lifespan sparked between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During a military parade held in Beijing, part of their private dialogue was accidentally picked up by a microphone and made public. International media reports indicate that this unexpected moment quickly went viral on social media.

The incident occurred as Xi Jinping, Putin, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un walked together at the historic Tiananmen Square. The private conversation between the two leaders was caught on China’s state television live broadcast. With the help of an interpreter, Xi and Putin were heard discussing. Xi’s interpreter was heard in Russian saying, “Living to 150 years in this century is not unusual.” After this remark, Putin was seen smiling, and Kim Jong Un, standing nearby, also joined in the laughter. However, it is unclear whether the entire conversation was translated for him.

Within a minute of the incident, the audio was cut from the TV broadcast. However, by that time, the video had already spread on social media, viewed by hundreds of thousands of people.

Later, speaking to Russian media, Putin commented on the matter, saying that modern medical technology and organ transplantation have significantly increased human lifespan.

Since the discussion touched not only on political and economic issues but also on personal perspectives regarding age and life, this private moment between the two leaders has drawn additional international attention.
