The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has reported that due to the influence of the subcontinental high-pressure belt, the weather across the country may remain dry for the next few days. During this period, the sky may be partly cloudy but there is no chance of rainfall. However, light to moderate fog may form in river basins during early mornings.

This information was provided in a 120-hour forecast signed by meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik on Tuesday (3 February).

According to the forecast, the extended portion of the subcontinental high-pressure belt is currently over West Bengal and surrounding areas. At the same time, the seasonally normal low pressure remains active over the southern Bay of Bengal, with a portion extending up to the northeastern Bay of Bengal.

From 9:00 AM Tuesday for the next 24 hours, the country’s weather is expected to remain temporarily partly cloudy but generally dry. During this time, light fog is possible in some river basin areas during early morning. Night and daytime temperatures may increase slightly.

The same type of weather is expected to continue on Wednesday (4 February), with partly cloudy skies and early morning fog in some areas. There is no major change expected in night or daytime temperatures.

From Thursday (5 February), temperatures may slightly decrease, with a projected fall of 1–2 degrees Celsius in both day and night temperatures. However, the weather is expected to remain dry. Similar conditions are likely on Friday (6 February) and Saturday (7 February), with possible morning fog but no rainfall. Meteorologists noted that this type of weather is normal for the winter season and no significant changes are currently forecast.
