Press conference held in Sirajdikhan over allegations against UP member

In South Rajnagar area of Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj, allegations of false cases, harassment, and land grabbing have been made against a Union Parishad (UP) member. Local resident Mahmud Hasan presented these allegations at a press conference held on Saturday (April 18) at noon at Sirajdikhan Upazila Press Club.

In a written statement, Mahmud Hasan said that due to his protest against various irregularities and activities of local UP member Meher Ali, the member became angry and filed a baseless case against him at the police station. He also alleged that a divorced woman was forcibly brought into his house as part of an attempt to grab land.

He further claimed that hired people were being used to threaten him, and even a murder conspiracy had been planned against him. Because of this, he and his family are living in extreme insecurity.

Mahmud Hasan demanded a fair investigation and justice for the incident.

Meanwhile, attempts to contact the accused UP member Meher Ali were unsuccessful, and no statement was obtained from him.

Local attendees at the press conference urged authorities to investigate the matter seriously and take necessary legal action.
