Trade Advisor Pledges to Create a Level Playing Field for Business

 Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin has pledged to ensure a level playing field to make business operations more transparent and easier. He stated that unnecessary trade regulations will be identified, reviewed, and reformed to simplify business activities, which will boost the country’s trade volume and economic capacity.

Speaking at the ninth meeting of the National Trade Facilitation Committee held at the Biyam Foundation Multipurpose Hall in Dhaka on Monday, Sheikh Bashiruddin said, “We aim for an efficient trade regime that ensures national economic growth and serves as a platform for equitable distribution of resources. Emphasis will also be placed on reducing tax evasion and enhancing efficiency.”

He further noted that automation in customs procedures will simplify import-export processes.

The meeting was attended by NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan, Commerce Ministry Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission Dr. Moinul Khan, Executive Chairman of the National Skills Development Authority Dr. Naznin Kausar, FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman, EPIB Vice Chairman Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary (FTA) Ayesha Akter, and other committee members.
