As a new advancement in autonomous vehicle technology, Tesla has launched its robotaxi service in Dallas and Houston in the US state of Texas. The company announced this in a recent social media post.

The post briefly stated, “Robotaxi is now launching in Dallas and Houston.” A short video showed driverless cars moving on city streets.

Previously, Tesla launched this service experimentally in Austin last year. From January 2026, driverless passenger transport began there. With the addition of two new cities, robotaxi service is now available in three cities in Texas.

However, concerns have also been raised about these autonomous vehicles in Austin. Reports suggest that the robotaxi has been involved in several accidents since its launch.

The service in Dallas and Houston is currently limited. Initially, only a small number of vehicles are being used, with plans for gradual expansion.

Tesla is also operating a limited ride service in the San Francisco area of California, where human drivers are still involved.

Analysts say the expansion of autonomous vehicles could bring major changes to future transport systems. However, safety, technological reliability, and regulations remain major challenges.
