Refined cooking oil prices increased five days ago, now fully implemented in markets. Soybean oil is being sold at 195 BDT per liter and 955 BDT for five liters. Onion prices remain high, though the supply of new onions has started.

New potatoes are in the market but not yet affordable: white potatoes at 40–50 BDT/kg, red potatoes around 70 BDT/kg. Older potatoes are cheaper, at 20–25 BDT/kg.

Egg prices have eased, with one dozen farm eggs selling at 120 BDT (previously 140 BDT). Broiler chicken is 180 BDT/kg, and Sonali chicken is 270–300 BDT/kg.

Winter vegetables have become more available, bringing prices down: cauliflower and cabbage at 40–50 BDT per piece, bottle gourd 50–60 BDT, eggplant 60–100 BDT/kg, radish 30–40 BDT/kg, turnip 40–60 BDT/kg, beans 40–50 BDT/kg, and local tomatoes 110–120 BDT/kg.

While oil and onion prices remain high, relief in eggs and vegetables gives hope to consumers.
