Shahjalal Islami Bank has awarded scholarships to 400 underprivileged meritorious students from different regions of the country who passed the SSC and equivalent examinations in 2024. These students are currently studying at various colleges and universities. Among the scholarship recipients, 200 are male students and 200 are female students. The total scholarship amount of BDT 22 million will help the students complete their courses.
The scholarship distribution ceremony was held last Wednesday at the corporate headquarters of Shahjalal Islami Bank. Fifty students attended in person to receive their scholarship checks, while the remaining 350 students will have their scholarship amounts transferred to their bank accounts in due course. The chief guest at the event was the bank’s Chairman, A. K. Azad.
Chairman A. K. Azad said, “Truly meritorious students will lead the country toward prosperity. It is our responsibility to properly support these talented individuals. Since 2006, Shahjalal Islami Bank has stood by the underprivileged meritorious students of the country, and this support will continue in the future.”
Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed added, “This scholarship will not only provide financial assistance to the students but also increase their motivation and enthusiasm. We hope they will focus on their studies and play a significant role in the country’s development.”
The ceremony was also attended by senior officials, directors, and other staff members of the bank.
