Sayra Akter Jahan Takes on Challenging Role in Courtroom Drama

The film is based on a tragic incident of abuse of women and children in Chittagong. Sayra plays the wife of an unsuccessful lawyer. She said, “When someone fails, many try to belittle them. I stand by my unsuccessful lawyer husband during tough times, offering support and inspiration. The role is very emotional and challenging. I feel this work will be good for my career.”

Filming took place in Chittagong. Acting coach Tarik Anam Khan, also an actor, trained the cast. Other actors include Nusrat Faria, Tania Brishti, Moushumi Hamid, and Ador Azad.

Sayra added, “The story is most important to me. I want to focus on quality over quantity in my future projects. I want to work in different genres, not just romantic stories.”

After a three-year break from acting, she returned earlier this year, appearing in the web series Closeup: Stories of Closeness and the film Bhai, earning audience appreciation. With Tribunal, her acting is expected to take a deeper and more challenging form.
