Hollywood actress and voice artist DeVaughn Chase has died at the age of 35. Family sources said she was hospitalized in Los Angeles after developing complications from meningitis and later died due to sepsis-related complications.
Her longtime manager John Ryan Jr. said she had been admitted due to weakness and malnutrition, and her condition worsened during treatment.
Chase began acting at a very young age and became widely known for her role as Samara Morgan in the 2002 horror film The Ring, which earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
She also voiced the character Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, winning an Annie Award.
Her death has caused widespread grief in Hollywood, with fans and colleagues paying tribute.
