Pakistan batsman Haider Ali arrested on rape charges; PCB suspends him pending investigation

Pakistan's young cricketer Haider Ali has been arrested by Greater Manchester Police in the UK on allegations of rape. The 24-year-old player is currently out on bail while the investigation continues. The complaint was filed on August 4, 2025, regarding an incident that occurred on July 23 in Manchester. Police have stated that they are supporting the victim and that the investigation is ongoing in accordance with the law.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is aware of the incident and has temporarily suspended Haider Ali until the investigation is complete. In their statement, the PCB expressed respect for the UK’s legal process and said they will provide necessary support to protect Haider’s rights.
