Ongoing Israel-Iran War Enters Fifth Day Amid Peak Nuclear Tensions in Middle East

The conflict between Israel and Iran has now entered its fifth day, with nuclear tensions in the Middle East reaching a critical level. The situation has become so complex that U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering sending top American officials to negotiate with Iran.

Speaking from a plane returning from the G7 summit in Canada, Trump stated in a declaration that he seeks a “real and lasting solution” to Iran’s nuclear program. However, he also emphasized that Israel will not back down from its military operations.

According to close sources to President Trump, Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff or Vice President JD Vance may be dispatched to Tehran for negotiations. Trump made it clear that he would not be satisfied unless Iran agrees to a “complete nuclear surrender.”

World leaders have already expressed deep concern about the scale of the conflict. At the G7 summit, they identified Iran as the primary source of regional instability and stressed that the country must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. At the same time, they reaffirmed support for Israel’s right to self-defense.

French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that the United States had offered a ceasefire proposal. However, Trump denied this and said that a ceasefire had no role in his decision to return to Washington.

Israel initiated the conflict with a covert airstrike that killed Iran’s top military commanders and nuclear scientists. The country claims it now controls Iran’s airspace and is preparing for a larger scale operation.

In retaliation, Iran claims to have launched several powerful missiles and drones toward Israel. Inside Iran, numerous casualties and damages have been reported in regions including Kashan, Lorestan, and Tehran, with at least 21 deaths in Lorestan alone.

Meanwhile, Israel reports that 24 of its civilians have been killed, and nearly 3,000 people have been evacuated to safe shelters.

The global economy is also feeling the impact of this conflict. An accident and electronic interference in the Strait of Hormuz have disrupted maritime traffic, further destabilizing the world fuel market.

Diplomatically, Iran has sent messages to the U.S. through Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia indicating willingness to be flexible in nuclear talks if Israel halts its attacks.

China has already instructed its citizens to leave Israel. For security reasons, Israeli airspace has been closed.

Amid this, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reports significant damage to Iran’s Natanz nuclear facilities caused by Israeli strikes, estimating the destruction of at least 15,000 centrifuges.

The situation grows more complex and dangerous by the day. Without diplomatic solutions, the war could escalate into a far more catastrophic conflict — it is now only a matter of time.
