Acting Chairman Muhammad Nure Alam Siddiqui told The Daily Campus, “I have repeatedly informed the police in writing for security, but they are only stationed on the ground floor. No initiative is seen to remove the protesters. Officials are facing extreme insecurity.”
Protesters of the 1–12th registration are stationed on the ground floor of Borak Tower, demanding implementation of pending claims. The 18th registration holders, who were not recommended in the 6th Gazette, are on the fourth floor, seeking separate notification based on vacant positions until December 31.
The Ministry stated that most 1–12th registration holders are over 35, so appointment was not possible. Additionally, 166 cases are under judicial review. An unnamed ministry official said, “There is no justification to blockade the office like this. Appointments cannot be made without court orders.”
NTRCA officials reported that the protesters’ agitation is so intense that staff are afraid to enter and sometimes return home. This has severely affected recruitment and other office activities. DM Police Ramna Zone has not yet commented. The NTRCA warns that if a solution is not found soon, future operations could also be stalled.
