New committee announced for Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Students Union, Durjoy president and Mostakim general secretary

A new committee has been announced for one faction of the Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Students Union. Durjoy Ray has been elected as president and Muhammad Mostakim as general secretary in the new committee.

The 36th conference and council session of the Students Union DU unit was held under the theme: “New soil brings harvest time, beyond darkness comes the morning of tomorrow.” The event began on Thursday and concluded on Saturday with a 27-member committee formed unanimously.

The council session was chaired by outgoing president Meghmollar Bosu and conducted by outgoing general secretary Main Ahmed. Central representatives included Students Union central president Tamjid Haidar and vice president Asif Zaman.

At the beginning of the council, a condolence motion was adopted in memory of deceased members followed by a one-minute silence. Reports from outgoing general secretary, organizational secretary, and finance secretary were presented. The previous committee was dissolved and an election committee was formed.

After lengthy discussions, the new committee was approved unanimously, leaving two posts vacant. Newly elected members took oath administered by outgoing president Meghmollar Bosu.

Madhusudan Karmakar, Arthy Anjum, Fatin Ishrak, and Sabbir Hossain were appointed vice presidents. Israt Jahan, Fahim Intisar, and Zubair Ibn Imam were appointed assistant general secretaries. Mishkatul Mashiyat was elected organizational secretary.

Leaders expressed hope that the new leadership will further strengthen organizational activities at Dhaka University.
