Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently in Washington, D.C., engaged in ceasefire negotiations, but finds himself under immense public and political pressure back home. Al Jazeera, which is banned in Israel and the occupied West Bank, is reporting on the situation from Amman, Jordan.

Most of Netanyahu's meetings in Washington are happening behind closed doors, arousing concern among Israeli citizens. Protesters have taken to the streets demanding a deal.

Within Netanyahu's own government, there's strong opposition to any potential deal, particularly from far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich. They've openly threatened to sabotage any agreement, asserting that now is the time for Israel to press on with the war.

Families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza are also vocal. They've rejected any partial or 60-day ceasefire, demanding a comprehensive agreement that would end the war and secure the release of all 50 captives.

Netanyahu himself has indicated a willingness to show some flexibility, but has also clearly stated that "the deal will not come at any price." This reflects the delicate balance he must maintain between international pressure, domestic demands, and the unyielding stance of his government's hardline faction.

The future of these high-stakes negotiations remains uncertain as Netanyahu navigates a complex political landscape both at home and abroad.
