Bangladesh’s young fast bowler Nahid Rana has further strengthened his position in international cricket with outstanding bowling performances. After a memorable display against New Zealand, he has now been included in the shortlist for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April.

In a press release on Friday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the monthly award. Alongside Nahid Rana of Bangladesh, Oman captain Jatinder Singh and United Arab Emirates pacer Ajoy Kumar have also been nominated.

In the ODI series against New Zealand at home, Nahid was in brilliant form. He took a total of 8 wickets in the three-match series, with a bowling average of 16.75 and an economy rate of 4.46. His consistent and controlled bowling played a key role in Bangladesh’s 2–1 series victory. He was also named Player of the Series.

Oman’s Jatinder Singh had a strong performance in the World Cup League 2, scoring 266 runs in five matches with an average of over 53. He also scored a brilliant century against Nepal.

Meanwhile, UAE bowler Ajoy Kumar has impressed since his international debut. In his first two ODIs, he took 9 wickets, including a 6-wicket haul against Oman, which brought him into the spotlight.

Cricket analysts say Nahid Rana has emerged as a new promising name in Bangladesh’s pace attack. His pace, control, and consistency are seen as a major hope for the future.
