After being acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹9.2 crore in the IPL auction, left-arm pacer Mostafizur Rahman will not play the full season due to national commitments. He will return to Bangladesh mid-April to participate in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which also includes three T20s.

BCB Cricket Operations Chief Nazmul Abedin confirmed this at a press conference. Bangladesh’s ranking in the top nine is crucial for direct entry into the 2027 ODI World Cup, making each ODI critical. Mostafizur’s temporary return ensures he can contribute to the national team’s objectives.
