Staff Report, PNN
Rumors spread on social media that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi would take over as Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, he has clearly denied this claim.
On Monday (13 April), after a Pakistan Super League match at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, he told reporters that there is no truth to the rumors of him becoming ICC Chairman. He said he currently holds multiple important responsibilities and has no plans to take on additional roles.
Recently, speculation suggested that Mohsin Naqvi might simultaneously serve as ICC Chairman, Asian Cricket Council President, and PCB Chief. He has rejected these claims outright.
He also spoke about the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), saying increasing stadium attendance is a priority. He added that he will discuss the matter again with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Naqvi said PCB wants to bring fans back to stadiums to make the tournament more lively and is continuing discussions with all relevant parties toward that goal.
