Popular Indian television host and actress Mini Mathur lost her hosting role in the fifth season of "Indian Idol" after sharing the news of her second pregnancy. Recently, she revealed that bitter experience from her career.

While discussing various aspects of her professional life on Hutterfly’s "The Male Feminist" show, Mini shared that after the fourth season of "Indian Idol" wrapped up, she discovered she was expecting her second child, Sairah.

When preparations for the fifth season began, Mini informed the organizers herself. She assumed she would naturally be able to handle the audition phase of the show. However, she also proactively informed the production team that her pregnancy would become visible during the show's final live episodes.

Ultimately, that very decision led to her losing the hosting position. Mini shared that she was informed she would not be retained as the host for the fifth season. The reasoning provided behind it left her even more disappointed.

According to Mini, she was told that the Indian audience would not feel comfortable watching a pregnant woman host a show. This response struck her as deeply disheartening.

The actress expressed that the incident made her feel that the individuals involved failed to recognize the evolving mindset of society and the audience. Choosing not to compromise her stance, she accepted the situation and moved on.

Later, she was invited to return for the sixth season of "Indian Idol." However, by then, her previous enthusiasm for the show had faded, leading her to turn down the offer herself.

Mini Mathur's hosting role on "Indian Idol" remains one of the major highlights of her television career. After beginning her television journey with the show "Tol Mol Ke Bol," she also worked as a video jockey for MTV. She subsequently gained widespread popularity as the host of "Indian Idol."

Alongside television, Mini has performed in web series and feature films. "Mind the Malhotras" stands out as one of her notable works.

In her personal life, she has been married to director and screenwriter Kabir Khan for many years. They met through work; after their initial meeting during a show's shoot, their bond deepened while working together across various locations in India.
