Two weeks ago, Inter Miami had lost to the Seattle Sounders in the League Cup final, but in Major League Soccer, Messi’s team got their revenge.

On Tuesday night, the Argentine superstar shone in the 3-1 victory. In the 12th minute, Messi delivered a brilliant outside-foot pass to teammate Jordi Alba, setting up the opening goal. Later, in the 41st minute, Messi scored himself from Alba’s assist, putting his team 2-0 ahead.

In the second half, Ian Fry added another goal with a header. Although Mexican player Obed Vargas scored for Seattle in the 69th minute, it was not enough to avoid defeat.

Luis Suarez was unavailable due to suspension. In the final moments, Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei denied Messi’s chance for a second goal.

New signing Mateo Silvetti, who came from Messi’s childhood club Newell’s Old Boys, made his Inter Miami debut.

Next Saturday, Inter Miami will face DC United, while Seattle Sounders will play against Austin FC on Sunday.
