The Bangladesh women’s hockey team, in excellent form in the Asian Games hockey qualifiers, has reached the final after defeating Singapore 3–1 in the semi-final.
The match was held on Tuesday (April 28) in Jakarta, Indonesia. From the beginning, Bangladesh played an aggressive game.
In the 8th minute, Ireen Ria scored a field goal to give Bangladesh the lead. However, Singapore equalized shortly after from a penalty corner. The first quarter ended 1–1.
In the second quarter, both teams created chances but failed to score.
In the final quarter, Ireen Ria became the match-winner. She scored two consecutive field goals in the 57th and 58th minutes to complete her hat-trick and secure a 3–1 victory for Bangladesh.
Singapore tried to apply pressure in the final moments, but Bangladesh’s defense held strong.
For her outstanding hat-trick, Ireen Ria was named Player of the Match. With this victory, Bangladesh’s women’s hockey team has strengthened their dream of winning the tournament.
