India’s match against West Indies in the Super 8 stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup on Sunday has effectively become a quarter-final. The winning team will secure a semi-final spot; the loser will exit the tournament.

Ahead of this crucial match, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir’s future was questioned by former England pacer Steve Harmison. In a talkSPORT interview, Harmison said that failing to defend the title this edition could put Gambhir under pressure.

Harmison emphasized that coaching an internationally competitive team requires not just strategy but also leadership.
