After nearly one and a half decades, Bayern Munich has secured a remarkable victory in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. In a match held at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain, they defeated Real Madrid 2-1.
The high-voltage clash on Tuesday night saw end-to-end attacking from the very beginning. Although the home side dominated in ball possession and shots, they struggled to find the net.
In the 41st minute of the first half, Bayern took the lead. Luis Diaz scored following a perfect attack, assisted brilliantly by Serge Gnabry. Bayern went into halftime leading 1-0.
