Hollywood's renowned actor Michael Madsen has passed away at the age of 67. He died yesterday, Thursday (local time), at his Malibu home in the United States, following a heart attack. The actor's death was confirmed by his spokesperson. AFP reported this news.
Madsen gained particular recognition for his work in Quentin Tarantino's films. His managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, and publicist Liz Rodriguez, stated in a joint press release, "Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood's most iconic actors. He will be sorely missed by many."
Madsen is primarily remembered by cinephiles for his roles as 'Mr. Blonde' in the 1992 crime thriller Reservoir Dogs and 'Budd' in Kill Bill. Both films were directed by Quentin Tarantino. Additionally, Madsen also appeared in other films by the director, including The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood. In his four-decade-long acting career, he played over three hundred characters.
His other notable films include Thelma & Louise, Free Willy, Donnie Brasco, among others. Madsen also acted in the 2002 James Bond film, 'Die Another Day'.
Not just in cinema, Michael Madsen was also quite popular in the world of video games, having lent his voice to Grand Theft Auto III. Furthermore, he published several collections of poetry, which speak to his multifaceted talent.
