College Teacher Dies in Truck Collision in Chakaria.

A passenger has died in a collision involving a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw hitting the rear of a parked truck in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar. The accident occurred on Thursday night around 10:30 PM, and the victim succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The incident happened earlier in the evening, in the Burir Dokan area of Boraitoli Union in the upazila.

The deceased passenger has been identified as Abdul Mannan, an Assistant Professor at Ujantia A.S. Alim Madrasah in Pekua Upazila. His home was in Chaufladandi Union, Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila. In the same accident, Abdul Mannan's wife, one of his young children, and the auto-rickshaw driver were injured. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Chittagong.

Mohammad Salequzzaman, Chairman of Boraitoli Union Parishad (UP), confirmed Abdul Mannan's death. He stated that he had spoken with the auto-rickshaw owner after the accident and instructed him to contact the deceased's family and provide necessary assistance for the treatment of the injured.

According to local residents, Abdul Mannan lived with his family in a rented house in the Pekua Bazar area due to his work. His sister had been ill for some time. Therefore, on Thursday evening, he set off with his family for Cox's Bazar to visit his sister. Around 7:00 PM, he boarded the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw from Pekua Bazar to go to Chakaria. His three young children, wife, and the driver were in the auto-rickshaw. Two of the children are reportedly in good health.

Mir Mohammad Akram Hossain, former chairman of the governing body of Ujantia A.S. Alim Madrasah, said, "The entire family was involved in the accident due to the auto-rickshaw driver's incompetence and reckless speed. A teacher lost his life, and his wife and children were also injured." When asked about the incident, Md. Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Chakaria Police Station, stated that he had not heard anything about the accident and would look into the matter.
