Although Bangladesh was scheduled to play two friendly matches against Nepal on September 6 and 9, doubts have arisen about whether those matches will actually take place. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is reportedly exploring the possibility of arranging matches against countries like Vietnam or Cambodia instead of Nepal. Whispers in the football community suggest that discussions are ongoing with the Nepal Football Association regarding this matter.
However, BFF General Secretary Imran Hossain Tushar has dismissed these rumors. He stated that no such decision has been made yet, and as far as BFF is concerned, the matches are still scheduled to be against Nepal on September 6 and 9. He is unaware of any new decisions.
On the other hand, according to sources from Nepalese journalists, there is a possibility that the Nepal-Bangladesh matches will be canceled. Although the Nepal Football Association has not officially released any information, one source claims that BFF wishes to play friendly matches against a country outside of SAFF.
Another source indicates that BFF President Tabith Awal is currently on a visit to Nepal, which is believed to be connected to these discussions.
In this situation, whether the Bangladesh national football team will indeed face Nepal or a new opponent remains uncertain, and an official announcement from BFF is awaited.
