Sabina Park witnessed an unbelievable and unforgettable day in Test cricket history. Under the onslaught of Australian pacers, West Indies were bundled out for just 27 runs in only 14.3 overs in the final Test of the Frank Worrell Trophy! This devastating performance secured a massive 176-run victory for Australia, clinching the series 3-0.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 121 in their second innings, setting West Indies a target of 204 runs for victory. However, the Caribbean batsmen offered no resistance against the Australian fast bowlers.

Being all out for 27 runs is the second lowest team total in Test history. Only once before has a team been dismissed for fewer runs – New Zealand were bowled out for just 26 runs against England in 1955.

The chief architect of this Australian devastation was left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc. In his 100th Test, with the pink ball in hand, he single-handedly claimed 6 wickets. The third day of the final Test of the series seemed to be written just for Starc. In his very first over, he picked up three wickets, creating history. The pacer set a record for the fastest five-wicket haul in Test cricket, and on this very path, he completed his 400 Test wickets milestone. West Indies' batting lineup crumbled in the blink of an eye against Starc's destructive spell, paving the way for Australia's dominant victory.

After Starc, Scott Boland entered the stage. He too left his mark with a magnificent hat-trick! He sent back Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph, and Jomel Warrican in a single over, reducing West Indies to 26/9. At that moment, the shameful record of New Zealand being dismissed for 26 runs in 1955 loomed over the Caribbean side.

However, they managed to avoid that ignominy by a whisker – West Indies scored one run due to a misfield by Sam Konstas at gully, making the score 27. But then, Starc struck again! He picked up the last wicket, ending West Indies' innings and concluding the day's play with his personal best bowling figures of 6/9.

The entire West Indies team was all out in just 14.3 overs – which will be considered one of the shortest and most embarrassing innings in modern Test history.
