Staff Report: PNN
The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has taken strict action against four cricketers accused of unethical conduct during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakuri have been suspended.
Following complaints, India’s Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) anti-corruption and security unit conducted an investigation. The preliminary findings confirmed the allegations, and an FIR was filed against the four players with the state police’s crime branch.
Reports suggest the accused tried to influence some Assam players during the tournament and incited unethical actions. ACA Secretary Sanatan Das confirmed disciplinary measures have been taken and legal actions initiated to prevent such incidents in the future.
The suspension bars the four from participating in any provincial tournaments or ACA-organized matches. This includes playing, coaching, umpiring, or match refereeing. The move has stirred significant concern in Assam’s cricketing circles, with ACA vowing stricter enforcement of transparency and discipline.
