The flood situation in Feni has deteriorated further, with 10 new villages inundated, bringing the total number of affected villages to 109. These new areas were submerged between yesterday afternoon (Thursday) and this morning (Friday). Among the newly flooded villages, four are in Feni Sadar Upazila, five in Chhagalnaiya Upazila, and one in Daganbhuiyan Upazila. Although water levels have slightly receded in the bordering Parshuram Upazila, the overall situation remains quite severe.
Power and Communication Systems Disrupted, Rescue Efforts Ongoing
Electricity supply is still cut off in five upazilas of Feni due to the floods. Additionally, smaller vehicles cannot use the Feni-Fulghazi and Feni-Chhagalnaiya regional roads as they are underwater.
As of this morning, 9,200 people are sheltering in 82 flood shelters. Last night, the army and volunteers successfully rescued 18 individuals from flood-affected areas in Parshuram and Fulghazi upazilas, including pregnant women and sick individuals.
Strong Role of Local Administration
Local administration officials and residents reported that some areas of Chhagalnaiya and Feni Sadar upazilas began experiencing new flooding yesterday afternoon, with water levels rising in parts of Daganbhuiyan Upazila by evening. The newly affected villages include two in Fazilpur Union and two in Motobi Union of Feni Sadar; five in Pathannagar Union of Chhagalnaiya Upazila; and one in Daganbhuiyan Upazila.

Feni Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam reassured the public that ample food and essential supplies are stocked at the district and upazila levels. He urged the public to contact Upazila Nirbahi Officers promptly if aid delivery is delayed or not received, promising swift action.
