The Dhaka International Film Festival authorities have announced the suspension of today’s scheduled film screenings at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The organizers expressed regret to the audience.
Films are being screened at five venues as part of the festival. Five films were scheduled to be shown today at the National Art Gallery Auditorium. These were: Dinosaurs Egg, Kishkindha Kandam, Odyssey of Joy, Dying for Dumis, and The Story of a Rock.
Festival Media In-Charge Bidhan Ribero told Prothom Alo that the screenings were suspended due to an internal program of the Shilpakala Academy. However, screenings at the National Art Gallery Auditorium will resume as usual from tomorrow.
Screenings at the other four venues—the main auditorium of the National Museum, Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Alliance Française de Dhaka auditorium, and Stamford University Bangladesh auditorium—are continuing as scheduled.
The 24th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival, featuring 245 films from 91 countries, began last Saturday and will conclude on January 18.
