Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayagan’ set for release on May 8 after censor delays

After long anticipation and multiple complications, the release date of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s much-discussed film Jana Nayagan has finally been confirmed.

The film is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on May 8, with an official announcement expected soon.

The political action film faced delays due to censor issues. Although it was initially planned for a Pongal release, various obstacles postponed it.

Recently, the film was leaked online, creating major controversy. Clips and songs were first circulated on social media, followed by a full high-quality version of the film.

Authorities have arrested several individuals after an investigation revealed that footage was leaked from an editing studio.

Analysts say piracy may affect box office performance, but Vijay’s popularity and fan anticipation could ensure strong opening collections.

The film is directed by H. Vinoth. Vijay plays a former police officer. Pooja Hegde stars opposite him, while Bobby Deol plays the antagonist. The cast also includes Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and others.

The film has a high production budget, and advance bookings have already reached significant levels. If audience response is positive, it may set new records in the Tamil film industry.
