The Central Parliament of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has permanently expelled Mozammel Hossain Antu, the Assistant Human Rights Secretary of its Dhaka University (DU) unit. The organization stated that the decision was made because the expelled leader took a stance in favor of Sharif Uddin Sarkar on social media.

This information was released in a press statement signed by Md. Jahangir Alam, Central Office Secretary of Chhatra Dal, on Thursday night. The statement noted that Mozammel Hossain Antu was permanently expelled from all organizational posts, including his primary membership, based on specific allegations of violating organizational discipline. This decision was approved by Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

Earlier, Sharif Uddin Sarkar, the DU Chhatra Dal's Religious Affairs Secretary, was himself expelled from the organization for allegedly modeling in an Islamic Chhatra Shibir music video. Although the controversial video was seven years old, its recent resurfacing had sparked extensive discussion and criticism within Chhatra Dal.

Mozammel Hossain Antu had posted on Facebook in support of the expelled Sharif Uddin Sarkar. He wrote, "With Sharif Uddin Sarkar bhai, Chhatra Dal simply showed its vulgar face of partisan nastiness." Organizational action was taken against him following this comment.
