Dhaka City College has announced the suspension of all classes and internal examinations for Wednesday, July 9, following a day-long student protest demanding the principal's resignation. However, pre-scheduled board examinations will proceed as usual.

The decision was communicated in an official order signed by the college's Acting Principal, Professor F.M. Mobarak Hossain, on Tuesday night (July 8). The order states, "Due to unavoidable circumstances, all internal examinations, classroom instruction, and admission activities of the college will remain suspended on July 9 (Wednesday). However, examinations conducted under the board will continue as scheduled." Examinees have also been requested to report to their respective examination centers at the designated time.

Copies of the official order have been circulated to the college's Vice-Principal, heads of departments, coordinators, members of examination-related committees, and office heads.

Earlier on Tuesday, the college campus was heated throughout the day due to student protests demanding the principal's resignation. Around 10:30 AM, a section of students from Dhaka City College's HSC 26th batch began protesting in front of the main gate, demanding the resignation of "self-proclaimed principal" Kazi Niyamul Haque. At one point during the protest, altercations and scuffles broke out between students and teacher representatives, resulting in two students being injured and hospitalized. To control the escalating situation, the college authorities suspended the first-year examinations for eleventh-grade students, and additional police were deployed in the Science Lab area.
