CU ‘C’ Unit Admission Test Completed; 33 Candidates Compete Per Seat

Chittagong University (CU) conducted the admission test for the first-year undergraduate (honors) Business Faculty ‘C’ Unit for the 2025–26 academic year peacefully. This year, there was an average of 33 candidates competing for each seat in this unit.

On the day of the test, students entered their respective centers by 10:30 AM, and the examination started at 11:15 AM and ended at 12:15 PM.

The Business Faculty ‘C’ Unit comprises six departments, with a total of 510 general seats. A total of 16,924 students applied this year.

Like other units, the C Unit exam was conducted at three university centers: 10,533 students at Chittagong University center, 5,314 at Dhaka University center, and 1,077 at Rajshahi University center.

Admission requirements were slightly relaxed this year. For Business Education students, a minimum combined GPA of 7 in SSC and HSC was required, down from 7.5 last year. For Science and Humanities students, the minimum GPA was 7.5, compared to 8 last year.

CU administration said a total of 3,597 general seats are being tested across four units and three sub-units this academic year. In addition, 568 seats are reserved for quotas. No seats were reserved this year for children of teachers, officers, and staff. The GPA from SSC and HSC will not be added to the admission test results.

University sources said that compared to last year, total seat numbers have been reduced by about 20 percent. Despite this, a large number of students applied—2,33,335 in total.
