Courtesy Meetings of Army Chief with President and Chief Adviser

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman held separate courtesy meetings on Monday with President Mohammad Shahabuddin and the Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government, Professor Muhammad Yunus. The discussions focused on his recent visit to China and the law and order situation in the country.

According to sources, the Army Chief met the President at Bangabhaban at 11:00 a.m. As per established protocol, after returning from a foreign visit, the head of the armed forces briefs the President, the Commander-in-Chief, about the trip. During the meeting, he shared his experiences from the China visit and provided updates on the activities of the Army.

At 12:00 p.m., the Army Chief visited the office of the Chief Adviser and held a meeting with Professor Muhammad Yunus. The discussions covered bilateral military cooperation, experiences from the recent visit, and the current law and order situation.

It is noted that General Waker-uz-Zaman traveled to China on an official visit on August 20 and returned to Bangladesh on the night of August 27. During the visit, he met with senior officials of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China and held discussions on various matters.

Earlier, on Sunday, the Army Chief had also met with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed at his residence. Sources stated that these meetings with the President, Chief Adviser, and Chief Justice were routine courtesy visits conducted in a peaceful environment.
