To ensure the safe return of the team, Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiya maintained constant communication with the authorities.
The Bangladesh team had gone to Nepal to play two international friendly matches. However, due to the massive protests that began on September 8, the match scheduled for September 9 was not held. The team was also supposed to return on the same day, but their flight was canceled as Tribhuvan International Airport was closed, forcing the players to remain at their hotel.
In response to the situation, the Chief Advisor’s office and the Ministry of Youth and Sports took urgent measures to ensure the players’ safe and swift return. At the ministry’s request, the Armed Forces Division approved the operation of a special flight.
The team will land in Kurmitola, Dhaka, after which a press conference will be held.
