The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies. The squad sees a few changes compared to the last series against Afghanistan. Opener Mohammad Naim and left-arm spinner Nahid Rana have been dropped. Similarly, wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das, who missed the Afghanistan series due to injury, has not been included this time.

Soumya Sarkar returns to the squad after missing the Afghanistan series due to visa complications. Additionally, wicketkeeper-batsman Mahidul Islam has received his first call-up to the ODI team. Mahidul has played one Test match so far and earned his place in the ODI squad due to his outstanding performance in List ‘A’ cricket. In 96 List ‘A’ matches, he has scored 3,429 runs, including four centuries, at an average of 44.53.

The first ODI of the series will take place on 18 October, with Bangladesh facing the West Indies. The next two matches are scheduled for 21 and 23 October. All matches will start at 1:30 PM at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Furthermore, three T20 matches are scheduled for 27, 29, and 31 October in Chattogram.

Despite the changes in the squad, Bangladeshi cricket fans are hopeful that the Tigers will enter the series with renewed energy and determination.
