Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has once again come into the spotlight with a brilliant batting performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Thanks to his record-breaking century, Peshawar Zalmi secured a big win in the qualifier match and confirmed their place in the final.
In the match held in Karachi, Peshawar Zalmi scored a huge total of 221 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Haris gave the team a solid start at the beginning of the innings. Later, Babar Azam took responsibility and played a brilliant innings of 103 runs off 59 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes.
In the middle order, he built an important partnership with Kushal Mendis, strengthening the foundation of a big score. In the final stage, Aaron Hardie added quick runs to push the team to a strong position.
This is Babar Azam’s second century in the current season. At the same time, he has reached the top of the list of most centuries in PSL history. In T20 cricket, his total number of centuries has reached 13.
In reply, Islamabad United started with some resistance but gradually lost wickets at regular intervals and came under pressure. They were eventually bowled out for 151 runs, losing by a huge margin of 70 runs.
For Islamabad, Samir Minhas scored the highest 44 runs. Captain Shadab Khan made 25 runs, Imad Wasim scored 22, and Devon Conway added 20 runs.
