Strong tension arose in Parliament between Bangladesh Jatiya Party chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partha and opposition leader Shafiqul Rahman over speeches made during proceedings.
During discussion on the President’s address, Partha criticized opposition statements and referred to media reports, suggesting political rivals had made controversial remarks.
This caused uproar in Parliament, leading the Deputy Speaker to repeatedly call for order.
Opposition leader Shafiqul Rahman denied making the remarks attributed to him and challenged Partha to provide proof.
Partha later clarified that he was quoting another political figure and not directly targeting the opposition leader.
Despite the tension, parliamentary proceedings continued.
Jamaat-e-Islami MP Nurul Islam also spoke, emphasizing the need for political unity and responsibility.
The day’s session saw discussions on various national issues, but the debate between Partha and Shafiqul Rahman remained the main highlight.
