All measures taken to ensure smooth and peaceful Durga Puja: Home Affairs Advisor

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that this year’s Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations are being conducted successfully and safely. He made the remarks on Monday (September 22) while inspecting the Missionpara Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Narayanganj.

He said that arrangements have been made to protect the sanctity of the festival and to foster harmony among people of all religions. CCTV cameras have been installed at every venue, and security will be ensured 24/7 by both government forces and volunteers from the Puja committees. Ansar personnel will also take responsibility starting September 24.

The Home Affairs Advisor also mentioned that a total of BDT 3.2 million has been distributed among various Puja mandaps in Narayanganj, along with 500 kg of rice at each mandap, to ensure the festival is celebrated smoothly.

Present at the event were DIG of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallik, Narayanganj District Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Minya, District Police Superintendent Mohammad Jasim Uddin, and other officials.
