The Bangladesh cricket team has already made a strong start in the 17th Asia Cup by defeating Hong Kong. On Saturday, in their second match of Group B, the Tigers will face Sri Lanka. The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM Bangladesh time.

The T20 encounters between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have always been a source of excitement for fans. While Sri Lanka leads slightly in statistics, Bangladesh’s recent performances have been quite impressive.

So far, the two teams have faced each other 20 times in T20s. Sri Lanka has won 12 matches, while Bangladesh has claimed 8 victories. Looking at individual highest runs, Mahmudullah has scored 368 runs for Bangladesh, whereas Kushal Mendis has scored 529 runs for Sri Lanka.

Sabbir has the highest individual score for Bangladesh at 80, while Mendis’ highest is 86. In terms of hitting maximum sixes, Mahmudullah has 15, and Mendis has 28.

In the last five encounters, Bangladesh has won four matches, while Sri Lanka has won only two. Therefore, even though Sri Lanka leads slightly in historical statistics, considering recent form, no team can be clearly considered ahead.

In today’s match, the Tigers aim to take a step closer to the Super Four stage.
