Veteran Bollywood Screenwriter Salim Khan Admitted to ICU

Legendary Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan has been admitted to hospital after suddenly falling ill. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Monday morning when his physical condition deteriorated. The 90-year-old Salim Khan is currently receiving treatment in the ICU. Hospital sources said that doctors are keeping him under close observation.

Upon receiving the news, his son and Bollywood star Salman Khan rushed to the hospital. Salman was seen moving around the hospital premises with a worried expression. The family has not yet issued any official statement.

It is notable that over the past few years, Salman Khan and other members of his family have received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Recently, Salman’s brother-in-law Ayush Sharma also received threatening emails. In such circumstances, the illness of the head of the family has created concern among fans and Bollywood colleagues.

Salim Khan is recognized as a legendary screenwriter in Bollywood. Through his joint creative efforts with Javed Akhtar in the 1970s, classic films such as Sholay, Deewaar, and Trishul were created. This duo introduced the rise of the “angry young man” character in Bollywood, which became widely popular through Amitabh Bachchan. Even after separating from Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan wrote the screenplay for popular films such as Naam.

In his personal life, Salim Khan was first married to Salma Khan. They have four children—Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail, and Alvira. Later, he married actress Helen.

Salim Khan turned 90 on November 24 last year. Within months of celebrating his birthday, news of his illness has surfaced, causing concern in the Bollywood industry.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has already written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking to ensure security for Bollywood stars.
