Popular singer Tousif Ahmed suffered a stroke. On the morning of December 28, he suddenly became unwell and lost consciousness at his residence in Dhaka. During the fall, he sustained a severe head injury, resulting in heavy bleeding and 27 stitches.
After hospitalization and necessary medical tests, doctors confirmed he had suffered a stroke. After several days under hospital care, he returned home yesterday. On Friday afternoon, Tousif himself confirmed the news.
Describing his condition, he said that he fainted suddenly and remembers nothing after his head spun. His wife alerted nearby people upon seeing his blood. He was initially admitted to a hospital in Dhanmondi and later transferred to another private hospital. At one point, he was on life support. Due to high medical costs and slight physical improvement, doctors advised him to continue recovery at home.
Tousif has long been dealing with various health complications. His illness has prevented him from working on music as regularly as before. Currently, he is feeling somewhat better, but more tests and evaluations remain. He requested prayers from everyone.
He previously suffered heart attacks twice: first in April 2022 and again in October 2024. Following medical advice, he had been resting since then.
Tousif is known for numerous popular songs such as ‘Dure Kothao Achhi Boshe’, ‘Brishti Jhore Jai’, ‘Ei Moner Anginay’, ‘Jan Pakhi’, among others. Besides singing, he is also actively involved in songwriting, composition, and musical arrangement. His first solo album ‘Abhipray’ was released in 2007.
